3D Printing 18K Gold
2015
Wind is a form of Qi. It’s the breath of the universe and could feel the pulse of life.
The Wind series of jewelry by contemporary Chinese artist Wang Kaifang are like the ethereal, swaying wind as well as the dancing spirit of the artist. The series, with length of 18cm, set the new world record for the biggest gold jewelry directly produced via 3D printing. Captured transiently from the universe, the Wind jewels tenderly caress the neck and gently twine around the wrist with the oriental Zen spirit. The Wind series of jewelry evolve from Wang Kaifang’s sculpture series One-Square-Meter Wind. The representative works from his sculpture series has been permanently collected by the renowned National Art Museum of China.
