The digital sculpture Hand in Hand is the corporate sculpture of Shanghai China State Construction Dongfu Investment & Development Co., Ltd. — the real estate section of China State Construction Eighth Engineering Division Co., Ltd. The sculpture embodies the essence of the Confucian philosophy and cosmology of “learning from the nature” and “harmonious coexistence”. With the integration of the corporate cultural concept of “marching forward hand in hand” into the contemporary artistic expression, the sculpture expresses the corporate philosophy of respecting the environment, the society and its cooperative partners. It also connotes the corporate aspiration of fulfilling its “Chinese Dream” via mutually supporting and collaborating with its partners, hand in hand and heart to heart.

This digital sculpture is commissioned to be created by Wang Kaifang, the renowned cross-disciplinary contemporary artist in China. It is the first urban sculpture ever created in China via adopting diversified avant-garde technologies including 3D printing, which represents that the Chinese contemporary art is at the forefront of the global dialogue in the urban public art field.
