This piece is composed of 30,000 buttons and 6,000 spoons collected within 9 months from all walks of life in China, from schools to military armies, from railway stations to detention centers, from earthquake-stricken areas to fashion parties, from being handed down from the grandmother to the overseas collections etc.. This documentary installation works embodies the differences between the rich and the poor in contemporary Chinese society as well as the evolution of the society via two basic livelihood elements—clothe and food.
The works was exhibited in 2009 Art Beijing Contemporary Art Fair, 2010 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair and International Design Week in 2010 in China Millennium Monument.
